Why Learn Improv
Our Foundation Improv classes teach you all the fundamentals of good long-form improv. Starting with no-experience-necessary Level 1, you’ll learn the core skills of listening, ‘yes and’, support and discovery. In level 2 you’ll dive deeper into on-stage performance, creating characters and performing as a group. And in Level 3 we introduce you to the comedic engine of improv scenes at The FA - Game!
Improv helps to expand your creativity and build confidence across a wide range of skills. Whether you’re looking to enhance your on-stage performance, improve your writing, or simply feel more comfortable telling a story at a party, improv has something to offer.
Learning to trust that you can step into the unknown—with nothing prepared—and figure it out on the spot does wonders for your brain, helping you think more flexibly, respond more confidently, and embrace new challenges with ease.
Great For:
★ Building Confidence
★ Living in the Moment
★ Having Fun and Meeting People
★ Becoming a Better Performer
“Ambika credits her organic impulses on screen to her comedy background, a mix of sketch shows, stand-up and improv. In 2024, her group, the Free Association, performed at the Edinburgh Fringe for a fourth time (post–One Day, their shows all sold out). “
“Improv made me a better writer, it made me a better performer, it made me more relaxed on stage,” she says. “It made me more relaxed coming into auditions, knowing that I could just deal with anything that came out.”
