  • The Free Association 113 Southgate Road London, England, N1 3JS United Kingdom (map)

SHOW INFO:

DOORS: 20:50 / SHOW START: 21.00 / RUNTIME: 60MIN / UNRESERVED SEATING AVAILABLE

A Night of Drama isn’t just comedy—it’s a rebellion. It’s a theatrical experience that laughs in the face of traditional theater etiquette. Watch a prolific Director of drama (Jack Grossman) live direct his company of clowns in a melodrama play (think Dickens meets Hugo).

We invite audiences to shed their polite applause and reserved smiles in favour of raw, visceral reactions - including the tossing of fruit scraps! Modern audiences have become weighed down by the unspoken rules of etiquette - obligated to offer standing ovations and polite applause regardless of the performance's quality.

A Night of Drama pushes back against this stifling decorum, reclaiming the honesty and spontaneity of live theater. By tossing out the rulebook (and a few banana peels*), the show delivers a liberating experience that reminds us what theater is supposed to be: emotion evoking, unpredictable, and most importantly, fun. We invite the audience to drop pretenses and embrace authenticity.

Picture a director determined to stage a stunning theatrical masterpiece, but instead, chaos erupts as performers and spectators alike embrace their whims and reject the assumed etiquette of theatre today.

A Night of Drama is improvised clown madness, the production transforms the stage into a playground of raw, unfiltered comedy. Toss a banana peel, join in a chant, or boo just because you feel like it. *banana peels provided

Online sales stop a half an hour before showtime - tickets will usually be available to purchase on the door.
