How can you develop creativity?

Most teams have more creative potential than they realise. But there are some bad habits that stop the creative juices flowing: cutting people off too soon, jumping to the evaluation stage too quickly, or expecting good ideas to come from the same people each time.

This workshop helps you spot those habits, and replace them with something more useful.

Who is this for?

This workshop is ideal for any team looking to unlock more creativity and innovation. It is particularly valuable for:

  • Teams that get stuck in familiar thinking, who need to break out of it
  • Organisations where ideas get killed early, or rarely become reality
  • Leaders who want to build a culture where creative risk-taking is encouraged
  • Anyone who has to solve problems, pitch ideas, or think on their feet

“I absolutely loved the course! Every moment was enjoyable and meaningful. It taught me new ways to create a positive working environment that have really stuck!”

What does the workshop cover?

This interactive session is built around improvisation exercises: the techniques that help teams think past their first idea, and build on each other’s thinking. The exercises work by bringing participants’ usual thinking patterns to light, and then demonstrating what becomes possible when those patterns are interrupted.

The focus is on generative thinking: learning to follow new paths rather than defaulting to the first idea, building on what others bring rather than redirecting it, and recognising that you don’t need a perfect idea to start with.

It’s not about being funny, and nobody will be put on the spot.

What will participants learn?

The impact of rejection – and how it shapes group dynamics
Supportive, active listening
Accepting and building on others’ ideas, rather than competing with them
Creating space for colleagues to speak up and contribute
Making new choices beyond the first instinct
Generating multiple solutions to a single challenge, not just the obvious one

How do we deliver training?

We believe in learning through doing, not watching. The exercises in this workshop are rooted in the principles of long-form improvisation – the same techniques that professional performers use to create something from nothing, together, in real time.

In a workplace context, those principles become practical tools. The learning is actually felt in the room, meaning it tends to stick.

Central to everything we do is creating an Idea-Friendly Environment: a space where speaking up feels safe, creative risk-taking is encouraged, and ideas are built on rather than shut down.
