Level 2 Improv Class: Scenework
Develop your improvisation skills, and learn to create scenes that feel real.
What’s covered in Level 2?
Following on from our Level 1 introduction to improv, this class focuses on initiating and sustaining engaging long-form improvised scenes. The course covers the FA approach to scene fundamentals, committing to relatable grounded base realities and acting in improv. By the end of the course you’ll have all the skills necessary to perform an improv montage as a team from start to finish.
Our Level 1 class is a prerequisite for this course. However, if you have significant long-form experience from another improv school, you may be able to join at this level. Email us to find out.

Questions
Do I have to have done Level 1 at the FA to do the Level 2 course?
Our Level 1 class is a prerequisite for this course. However, students with significant long-form improv training from somewhere else are sometimes able to start at Level 2. Please contact us on hello@thefreeassociation.co.uk to check where you should start.
Do I have to pay the full fee upfront?
Only if that suits you. When you check out, there will be an option to pay a 25% deposit. The remainder of the course fee is due before the start of class. Full payment terms are outlined in our T&Cs.
Who will be my teacher?
Whilst all our trainers bring unique experience and expertise to their lessons, they all know our style and syllabus inside out, so your improv education will be the same regardless of who is running your class. Your teacher will introduce themselves by email before the first class.
Is there a show at the end?
Not for Level 2, but if you come back for Level 3, there’s a public show at the end of that course.
How long after Level 1 can I join Level 2?
As soon as you have completed Level 1, you can progress to Level 2. You can also wait a few months if that suits your schedule better. Students returning after a long break: speak to us about the best place to rejoin the course.
