Training for Sales Teams

Build the skills that actually close deals: active listening, real presence, and the ability to respond – not just react.

Training for Sales Teams
Workshop length Half day
Format In person or virtual

What makes a great salesperson?

The best salespeople aren’t the ones with the slickest pitch: they’re the ones who actually listen and adapt.

Every sales conversation involves speaking to a human ... but humans go off-topic, raise objections you didn’t prepare for, and make decisions based on whether they trust you, not just whether your deck was good.

The gap between a decent pitch and a closed-won deal hinges on how you handle an unexpected question, how you respond when the conversation shifts, and how present you actually are.

Our training gives sales teams the practical tools to close that gap.

Who is this for?

This workshop is valuable for sales professionals at any level. It is particularly well suited to:

  • Sales teams who rely heavily on scripts or structured pitches and want to feel more natural in conversation
  • Account managers and client-facing teams who need to build stronger, more genuine relationships
  • B2B and B2C salespeople who want to improve how they handle objections and unexpected moments
  • Organisations investing in sales development that goes beyond process and technique

“The result is immense.”

What does the workshop cover?

Most sales training focuses on the pitch. This session focuses on everything that happens when the pitch meets a real person.

Through hands-on exercises, participants will practise proper listening: setting aside their own agenda, staying present when the conversation goes somewhere unexpected, and building on what the other person actually says rather than steering back to the script.

We use techniques from the world of improv, but nobody is expected to be funny. The work is practical, the scenarios are recognisable, and the habits that form in the room transfer directly to the next prospect meeting.

What will participants learn?

Active listening: hearing what’s actually being said, not what you expected to hear
Staying present and responsive rather than waiting to deliver your next point
Adapting in the moment without losing confidence or direction
Building genuine rapport and trust with clients
Going off-script when it matters (and knowing when it does)
Understanding your personal impact in every conversation
+ Add-on

PLUS: Go deeper on Impact

Every sales conversation is different, and the best salespeople know how to read that difference and adjust in real time. For teams who want to develop that skill further, we offer an optional add-on session on how to tailor your impact.

Participants watch professional improvisers play out the same conversation multiple times, each time with small, deliberate variations in tone, body language, or intent. They then step into their own live, improvised sales scenarios, practising how to adapt their approach to different personalities, objections, and moments of unexpected pushback.

How do we deliver training?

We believe in learning through doing, not watching. The exercises in this workshop are rooted in the principles of long-form improvisation – the same techniques that professional performers use to create something from nothing, together, in real time.

In a workplace context, those principles become practical tools. The learning is actually felt in the room, meaning it tends to stick.

Central to everything we do is creating an Idea-Friendly Environment: a space where speaking up feels safe, creative risk-taking is encouraged, and ideas are built on rather than shut down.
