Organic Improv Classes
Learn to build an entire show from a single audience suggestion.
What’s covered in our organic improv course?
Organic improv is probably the purest style of long-form improv. There is no predetermined structure: the audience gives you a suggestion, and you begin. Everything that follows is discovered in the moment: the scenes, the games, and the shape of the show itself.
Our Advanced Organic Level 1 course develops your commitment, instinct, and ability to find and follow what’s funny as it emerges. Advanced Organic Level 2 takes that further – helping you work as a team to discover the shape of the whole show as you perform it.
The FA’s Foundation Level 3 (Game) is a prerequisite for this pathway.

Frequently Asked
Questions
Do I qualify for the Organic Pathway?
You need to have completed the FA’s Foundation Level 3 (Game) course to join Advanced Organic Level 1. Organic Level 2 follows on from Level 1 (no surprise there). If you haven’t reached Level 3 yet, start with our Foundation Classes.
What if I have improv experience from elsewhere?
It depends on your background. Drop us a line and we’ll work out the right place for you to start.
Do I have to do both levels?
No! Each level in our Organic Pathway is booked separately. Most students do go on to Level 2, but you can start with Level 1 and see how you get on.
What happens at the end of the course?
Both levels end with a public class show … so you can perform what you’ve been working on in front of a real audience.
Can I hold a place with a deposit?
Yes. You can pay 25% when you check out, and the remainder before the course starts.
“The FA is the best damn place for improv in London. Go see a show, get excited, take a class, get addicted and then spend the rest of your life being silly with people on stage. You’ve been warned.”
