NextUp Comedy takes over The Free Association for one very special evening, recording two brand new stand-up hours back to back for streaming release. Esther Manito / Shappi Khorsandi – Double Bill brings together two award-winning comedians on cracking form.

 7pm: Esther Manito – Slagbomb

Award-winning British-Lebanese comedian Esther Manito (Live at the Apollo, The Stand Up Sketch Show) brings Slagbomb to the stage — a nosedive into the challenges and hilarities of the awkward "sandwich years," where youthful freedom gives way to ageing parents, small children and the total collapse of poise. Following the success of her last show, Hell Hath No Fury, Esther is done pretending: owning the label of "angry woman," she leans further into the mess, the mayhem and the gloriously undignified truth of it all — from failed attempts at being sexy to a waxing session gone badly wrong. An Arab Essex girl who challenges every preconception of what that means, Manito deftly skewers gender politics, the expectations placed on modern parents and the obscene pressures put on modern women. Also known for BBC Radio 4's The News Quiz, Hypothetical (Dave) and podcasts Ghastly Women and The Running Joke, Manito has picked up four-star reviews across the board for this show's UK tour.

 One of Britain's best-loved and most scatterbrained stand-ups, familiar from Live at the Apollo and Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, Shappi Khorsandi returns with Scatter Brain. Having reassessed her life through the prism of an ADHD diagnosis in her funny, moving memoir of the same name, Khorsandi lets audiences back into her mind — warning: it's cluttered in there. Among other things, expect a love letter to letter-writing, a trip back through her early years as a comic and woman-about-town, and a whirlwind tour of a chaotic, hilarious brain. Chortle praised the show for having "more passion, relevance and urgency than ever," while Funny Women said they "laughed all the way through and left inspired." Khorsandi has been a fixture of British comedy since her sell-out 2006 Edinburgh debut, Asylum Speaker.

 Together, these two hours make for a rare night of big-name, big-hearted stand-up — filthy, moving and whip-smart in equal measure — captured live for NextUp Comedy's audience.
