About this class
How to turn your TV idea into a professional pilot.
A great spec TV pilot has to do two things: launch a compelling series and serve as a calling card for you as a writer. So what makes a pilot work? How do you create an episode that hooks an audience, establishes a world and its characters, and stands out to professional readers, producers and executives?
In this practical workshop, we'll break down the essential elements of a successful pilot and explore a step-by-step process for taking your idea from initial concept to finished script. We'll also look at the supporting materials—from pitch documents to series bibles—that can help turn a great pilot into a sale.
Whether you're developing your first TV idea or refining an existing project, you'll leave with a clearer understanding of what the industry is looking for—and a roadmap for getting your pilot written.
